ok, now this really is high and low. the first pic is from slavin, a wwII memorial and soviet military cemetery at the top of the main hill overlooking the city. the second pic is of piles of books going downwards to infinity (are they piled downwards? anyway...)

It was some kind of generic festival based around the town square which is near the ... umm ... the palace with the mirrored room. A lot of orchestral stuff but the atmosphere was great, I remember.

We were in Brat for around three days and then took a boat down the river to Vienna and then a shuttle over to Cesky Krumlov. Love that part of the world.
